Job summary

EOSYS seeks NEXT Engineers for its Cooperative Education Program starting Spring 2026. You will participate in design, construction, testing, implementation and documentation of basic industrial control systems while assisting in manufacturing operations and field deployments.

You’ll learn CAD, hardware and software design methods, and gain hands-on experience in installation, checkout and standby support. Housing is provided during work sessions alongside defined career development paths.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a 4-year engineering degree program (EE/CE/ChE or related).
• Minimum 3.0 GPA; transcript may be required.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
• Complete introductory engineering coursework successfully.
• Maintain full-time enrollment during co-op periods.
• Pass professional reference checks and background/drug screens.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, test, implement, and document basic control/information systems.
• Assist manufacturing operations using basic tools for assembly.
• Support field operations from requirement definition to commissioning.
• Learn CAD, hardware/software design techniques, and system checkout processes.

Education

As a NEXT Engineer You Will

• Participate in the design, construction, testing, implementation, and documentation portions of basic industrial control and/or information systems that meet requirements and team standards.
• Assist in manufacturing operations using basic hand tools and power tools to perform assembly operations.
• Assist in field operations including requirement definition, field survey, installation, checkout, commissioning and standby support.
• Spend time learning technical skills; including computer aided drafting, hardware and software design techniques, software development and testing techniques, and system installation and checkout processes.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a 4 year degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering or another appropriate Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3.0 overall GPA (Be sure to upload transcript to application).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. EOSYS is not currently accepting work/student visas.
• Successful completion of entry-level/ introductory engineering coursework.
• Full-time academic enrollment during co-op work seasons.
• Earn a satisfactory evaluation during each co-op session for approval to return the next session.
• Successful completion of professional reference check, criminal background check and Drug Screen.

• Must be capable of operating computers and learning computer-based design and development techniques.
• Must be capable of sitting at a desk or console for extended periods.
• Must be able to be fitted for Personal Protective Equipment for certain customers.
• Standing and walking on a concrete surface for extended periods.
• Kneeling periodically on concrete or padded surfaces.
• Lifting and carrying 25 lbs. or more.
• Walking/working in mezzanine (screen guard) area (20-25 ft high, wire mesh floor).
• Climbing a ladder or metal stairs to access mezzanine (screen guard) area.
• Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Must be able to work at night or non-traditional shifts, as needed.
