Job summary

NexTier Completion Solutions in Odessa, Texas, is seeking Field Engineer I & II to support Frac operations from Odessa, Pearsall, and Marshall. You will setup data acquisition software, monitor pump parameters, and coordinate with districts and vendors.

This outdoor role requires working in all weather, frequent travel to remote sites, and commitment to safety. Field Engineers collaborate on new technology rollouts and continuous improvement projects while maintaining equipment knowledge and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to understand and speak English at a level of proficiency allowing employee to issue, receive and respond to safety and operations directions in English.
  • Must have valid state-issued driver’s license and be eligible to drive Company vehicles including ability to meet requirements of Company’s Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Setup stream-out and data acquisition software in the data van to record and transmit each stage’s treatment parameters to the Performance Center prior to starting a stage.
  • Coordinate with district supply chain and vendors to verify all orders are delivered in a timely manner throughout the job.
  • Monitor all pump parameters, treating pressure, and rate during treatment and communicate with supervisor and customer representative if there are any problems or concerns.
  • Assist with the rollout and implementation of new technology and continuous improvement projects. Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Address any technical questions or concerns from customers related to reservoirs, fluid systems or software.
  • Be knowledgeable on equipment operations, limitations, and components.
  • Assist maintenance and engineering with root cause analysis.
  • Assist with data van rigging up/down and maintain cleanliness in data van and assist field operations with rig-up/down as needed.
  • Promote HSE values and perform job duties as per NexTier’s safety policy and standard operating procedures as well as implement best practices for field operations equipment.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.
  • This position requires the person to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold/heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. Frequent travel to other Company offices and frack work sites, often in remote locations, is required which may be in all types of weather conditions and employees will be expected to properly use designated PPE.

All Levels:

Minimum Qualifications

All Level Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • Able to proficiently use Microsoft Office applications, Excel, MS Word, etc.
  • Ability to understand and speak English at a level of proficiency allowing employee to issue, receive and respond to both safety and operations-related directions in English.
  • Must have valid state-issued driver’s license and be eligible to drive Company vehicles including ability to meet requirements of Company’s Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.
Field Engineer 1:
  • Minimum nine months of field engineering experience in oil and gas, preferably in hydraulic fracturing.
  • Completion of Engineering Training or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Intermediate knowledge of data acquisition software.
  • Completion of assigned Engineering Training. (Technical Handbook training, data acquisition software, basic frac fluid knowledge, pump operation standard training, and basic math and computer skills training).
Field Engineer 2:
  • Completion of assigned Engineering Training.
  • Advanced knowledge of data acquisition software.
Additional Details:

This position requires the person to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold/heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. Frequent travel to other Company offices and frack work sites, often in remote locations, is required which may be in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, cold, heat, day, night, etc.) and employees will be expected to properly use designated personal protective equipment (PPE). The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
