Position requires engineering education and field experience; candidates should be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to remote sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to issue and respond to safety and operations directions in English.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles.
  • Field experience in oil and gas preferred (FRAC).

Responsibilities

  • Set up stream-out and data acquisition software in the data van to record and transmit stage parameters.
  • Coordinate with district supply chain and vendors to ensure timely orders.
  • Monitor pump parameters, treating pressure, and rate; communicate issues.
  • Assist with rollout of new technology and continuous improvement projects.
  • Address customer questions related to reservoirs, fluids or software.
  • Be knowledgeable on equipment operations and components.
  • Assist maintenance with root cause analysis.
  • Assist with data van rigging and field operations rig-up/down.
  • Promote NexTier safety values and follow policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

This posting is for openings NexTier currently has for Field Engineer I & II supporting Frac operations out of Mill Hall, PA and the work locations span the tri-state area of PA, WV, & OH

All Levels:
  • Setup stream-out and data acquisition software in the data van to record and transmit each stage's treatment parameters to the Performance Center prior to starting a stage.
  • Coordinate with district supply chain and vendors to verify all orders are delivered in a timely manner throughout the job.
  • Monitor all pump parameters, treating pressure, and rate during treatment and communicate with supervisor and customer representative if there are any problems or concerns.
  • Assist with the rollout and implementation of new technology and continuous improvement projects. Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Address any technical questions or concerns from customers related to reservoirs, fluid systems or software.
  • Be knowledgeable on equipment operations, limitations, and components.
  • Assist maintenance and engineering with root cause analysis.
  • Assist with data van rigging up/down and maintain cleanliness in data van and assist field operations with rig-up/down as needed.
  • Promote HSE values and perform job duties as per NexTier's safety policy and standard operating procedures as well as implement best practices for field operations equipment.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
All Level Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • Able to proficiently use Microsoft Office applications, Excel, MS Word, etc.
  • Ability to understand and speak English at a level of proficiency allowing employee to issue, receive and respond to both safety and operations-related directions in English.
  • Must have valid state-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive Company vehicles including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.
Field Engineer 1:
  • Minimum nine months of field engineering experience in oil and gas, preferably in hydraulic fracturing.
  • Completion of Engineering Training or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Intermediate knowledge of data acquisition software.
  • Completion of assigned Engineering Training. (Technical Handbook training, data acquisition software, basic frac fluid knowledge, pump operation standard training, and basic math and computer skills training).
Field Engineer 2:
  • Completion of assigned Engineering Training.
  • Advanced knowledge of data acquisition software.
Additional Details:

This position requires the person to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold/heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. Frequent travel to other Company offices and frack work sites, often in remote locations, is required which may be in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, cold, heat, day, night, etc.) and employees will be expected to properly use designated personal protective equipment (PPE). The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
