Job summary

NPG of Oregon is seeking an Assistant News Director to lead the day-to-day operations of its newsroom, driving content decisions and ensuring strong breaking coverage. This role requires a dynamic, forward-thinking leader with a passion for storytelling and investigative reporting.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years in broadcast news, including one year in a leadership role, and a proven ability to mentor staff while collaborating with reporters and producers to craft standout

Qualifications

• Two years of broadcast newsroom experience, including one year in a leadership role.
• Solid understanding of media ethics and legal standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day newsroom operations and content decisions.
• Guide coverage decisions and ensure strong breaking news coverage.
• Coach, mentor and inspire staff at all levels in partnership with the News Director.
• Collaborate with reporters and producers to create standout newscasts.
