Job summary

Sinclair Inc. is offering a Fall 2026 News Intern position at KATV in Little Rock, AR. The role focuses on hands-on learning in modern journalism, including researching, writing, and producing stories for broadcast and digital platforms.

You will work alongside experienced reporters and editors, pitching ideas and gaining exposure to control room operations for live broadcasts, all while building a professional portfolio.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate.
• Be at least a sophomore at an accredited college/university.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Be available to work on-site at KATV in Little Rock, AR approximately 15 hours per week for 10 weeks.
• Be able to start between August 24th - September 14th.
• Have reliable transportation (housing/relocation is not provided).
• Be passionate about local news, storytelling, and community impact.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Create & Contribute: Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Be Where the Action Is: Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers—both in the newsroom and out in the field.
• Pitch Ideas: Bring fresh story ideas to the table and help shape coverage that matters to our audience.
• Get Hands-On: Learn how to shoot video, frame compelling visuals, and understand what makes a story stand out.
• Behind the Scenes: Gain exposure to control room operations and how live broadcasts come together in real time.
