Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is offering fall 2026 internships for journalism or communications students.

Interns will support NewsNation programs, bureau teams or production units, with hands-on experience in editorial and production workflows within a 24-hour news organization. The program includes trainings and workshops, alongside opportunities to learn about editorial, business, programming, and tech aspects of our national network.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student majoring in journalism or communications.
• Paid internship for Fall 2026.
• Experience or interest in editorial, production, or newsgathering in a 24-hour news environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research for stories and topics.
• Pitch story ideas to editorial teams.
• Identify potential guests for segments or interviews.
• Assist in sourcing video from social media and archives.
• Edit desktop video content for broadcasts or digital platforms.
• Create graphics to accompany stories.
• Write scripts for on-air or digital segments.
• Shadow editors and producers across departments.

Are you a curious, passionate, energetic, and hardworking undergraduate or graduate student majoring in journalism or communications who is looking for a hands-on learning experience which will help you to further prepare you for an exciting career in journalism? Would you enjoy the opportunity to work at a national cable news network supporting editorial newsgathering or production? NewsNation is looking for interns for Fall 2026. The paid internships will run from approximately, Tuesday, September 8 – Friday, December 4. Selected interns will work on one of our NewsNation programs, in a bureau, or on a production team. Interns will also attend trainings and workshops which help them further understand the editorial, business, programming, and technological aspects of a 24-hour news organization.
