NewsNation Executive Producer, Banfield (New York, NY)
NewsNation seeks an Executive Producer to helm the daily primetime show Banfield. The ideal candidate is a strong television producer equally adept at identifying storylines, crafting compelling broadcasts, and pushing stories forward. The producer must also be skilled at producing first rate breaking news coverage. The producer also works collaboratively with different teams: network leadership, special projects unit, marketing, and production/operations. To effectively lead their team the executive producer must have a clear vision, a motivational leadership style, be proactive and solution oriented. This position is based at the network’s studios in New York.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Work with News Nation Network leadership team on the overall editorial vision for daily news program
· Lead daily editorial meetings where story and topic ideas are pitched, discussed, and assigned
· Drive daily booking strategy to identify high profile and topical bookings
· Ideate and create compelling segments and franchises
· Work with show hosts, substitute hosts, and correspondents contributing to the broadcast
· Set clear expectations and effectively delegate to senior staff
· Liaise with technical and production staff
· Maintain high editorial and ethical standards
· Hire and manage newsroom employees working on the program
· Collaboratively work on cross-platform strategies to have brand consistency across broadcast and digital
· Effectively and efficiently manage the control room during live broadcasts
· Perform other duties as assigned by network leadership
Requirements & Skills:
·Must have significant experience producing for a national news program or producing newscasts in a top 10 market
· Strong news judgement
·Quick decision maker and creative thinker
· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
· Excellent copy-editing skills are also a must.
· Must also be capable of interacting positively and productively with other employees all while understanding you are leading by example.
· Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
· Proficiency with ENPS
· Flexibility to work different shifts
Salary Range (as per experience): $220,000-250,000
