VERSANT (Nasdaq: VSNT) is an industry-changing media and entertainment business and home to trusted brands that shape culture, inform audiences, and build lasting connections. It operates across four core markets: political news and opinion, business news and personal finance, golf, and sports and genre entertainment. These markets are served through a powerful portfolio of iconic and innovative brands, including CNBC, MS NOW, USA Network, Golf Channel, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Versant's sports division USA Sports, along with complementary digital assets including Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and GolfPass.

CNBC is seeking a full-time Newsletter Strategy & Operations Specialist to lead the execution and optimization of CNBC's newsletter portfolio.

This role owns end-to-end newsletter operations, including overseeing the relationship with CNBC's email service provider (ESP), developing and refining production workflows, driving subscriber acquisition, engagement, retention, and growth strategies, and supervising newsletter sponsorships and ads.

The position requires close collaboration with cross functional partners including editorial, audience development, product, marketing, ad sales and analytics teams to drive performance and support business objectives.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise and project management skills with a proven track record of leading newsletter operations and driving subscriber growth, engagement and retention. You’ll thrive in this role if you are a strategic and detail-oriented leader who effectively manages cross functional stakeholders and proactively identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, audience engagement and monetization

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
  • Newsletter Operations and Production
    • Own the day-to-day operations of CNBC's newsletter portfolio, ensuring newsletters are built, quality assured, scheduled, and delivered accurately and on time.
    • Serve as the primary administrator for CNBC's email service provider (ESP), managing platform configuration, templates, production workflows, and deliverability.
    • Build and maintain newsletter templates and advertising modules, ensuring editorial and commercial placements meet CNBC's production standards.
    • Develop and maintain production documentation, QA checklists, and scalable operational workflows that support a growing newsletter portfolio.
  • Advertising & Sponsorship Operations
    • Partner with sales and commercial teams to execute newsletter sponsorships, optimize advertising inventory, and ensure campaigns launch on schedule and fulfill advertiser commitments.
    • Ensure all ad units are implemented accurately and align with CNBC's editorial, legal, and production standards.
  • Audience Growth & Optimization
    • Own newsletter performance reporting by defining KPIs, monitoring engagement and business metrics, and identifying opportunities to drive subscriber growth, retention, monetization, and operational efficiency.
    • Lead subscriber lifecycle strategy — including acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, and reactivation in partnership with editorial, marketing, and product teams.
    • Develop and execute testing strategies for subject lines, creative, send times, personalization, and template optimization, to improve audience engagement and business outcomes.
  • Product & Portfolio Management
    • Act as the operational product owner for the newsletter experience, driving improvements in functionality, personalization, automation, and subscriber experience.
    • Evaluate and evolve CNBC's newsletter portfolio by supporting new launches, optimizing existing products, and recommending consolidation or sunset strategies based on performance.
    • Collaborate with partners throughout the organization to expand newsletter distribution and identify new opportunities to reach and engage audiences across owned and external platforms.
  • Strategy & Innovation
    • Stay current on industry trends, emerging email technologies, and newsletter best practices, identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, audience engagement, and monetization.
    • Recommend new tools, workflows, and processes that enhance the scalability and long-term growth of CNBC's newsletter business.
