Job summary

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a detail-oriented News Media Desk Coordinator for its News Department in a fast-paced broadcast environment. You will ensure timely retrieval, processing, and delivery of media content for live and pre-recorded news, with meticulous logging and metadata for archival and future retrieval.

You will work with Avid systems and iNEWS, assist producers in sourcing content, and perform basic editing and ingest tasks while coordinating with field personnel under tight

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized News Media Desk Coordinator to join its News Department. The News Media Desk Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the timely retrieval, processing, and delivery of media content for live and pre-recorded news programming. This role also ensures that all video assets are properly logged, tagged, and assigned accurate metadata to support efficient archival storage and future retrieval.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Provide creative input and assist producers in identifying and sourcing relevant content for news programming. Utilize Avid systems to search for, retrieve, and deliver media content to news bureaus and field personnel. Use iNEWS to transfer and synchronize metadata from program rundowns to the PAM archival system. Ensure all video assets are properly logged, categorized, and assigned accurate metadata for archival and future retrieval. Perform basic video editing and clip selection using Avid Media Composer. Ingest and process video files in various formats and codecs to prepare content for the editing workflow. Maintain a working knowledge of current events and breaking news developments. Respond promptly to media requests while providing proactive, service-oriented support to the News Department. Prioritize and manage multiple requests while maintaining accuracy and meeting tight deadlines.

YOU HAVE

• Previous experience working with Avid media management systems.
• Strong typing skills with a high level of speed and accuracy.
• Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
• Full professional proficiency in both English and Spanish (bilingual required).
• Basic video editing skills and hands-on experience with Avid Media Composer.
• The ability to make quick decisions and communicate clear, accurate instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A proactive, service-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom, including during breaking news situations.
• Physical ability to lift and move boxes as required.
