KOMO Fall News Intern in Seattle, WA is a chance to join Sinclair’s newsroom and contribute to cross-platform storytelling. This internship runs ~10 weeks, about 15 hours per week, with a late August to mid-September start.

You’ll research, write, and produce news stories for broadcast and digital platforms, work with reporters and photographers in the field and newsroom, and learn control room basics. Applicants must be 18+, enrolled in a degree program (or recent grad), and eligible to work in

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate
• Be at least a sophomore at an accredited college/university
• Be eligible to work in the United States
• Be available to work on-site at KOMO in Seattle, WA approximately 15 hours per week for 10 weeks
• Be able to start between August 24th - September 14th
• Have reliable transportation (housing/relocation is not provided)
• Be passionate about local news, storytelling, and community impact
• Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

• Create & Contribute: Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms
• Be Where the Action Is: Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers—both in the newsroom and out in the field
• Pitch Ideas: Bring fresh story ideas to the table and help shape coverage that matters to our audience
• Get Hands-On: Learn how to shoot video, frame compelling visuals, and understand what makes a story stand out
• Behind the Scenes: Gain exposure to control room operations and how live broadcasts come together in real time
