Job summary

KATV, part of Sinclair Broadcast Group, invites you to join as a Fall News Intern. You will be immersed in a fast-paced newsroom, contributing to research, writing, and multi-platform storytelling for broadcast and digital outlets.

You'll work alongside reporters and photographers in the newsroom and in the field, learning to shoot, edit, and package stories. Start window is August 24 through September 14, with on-site hours about 15 per week for 10 weeks.

Qualifications

• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Work with reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in newsroom and field.
• Pitch fresh story ideas to shape coverage for the audience.
• Learn to shoot video, frame visuals, and understand storytelling elements.
• Gain exposure to control room operations and live broadcasts.
