OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations across the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 DMAs and duopolies in 11 DMAs, such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Of these, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. The stations produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, distributing sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, leveraging demand for the FOX Network's national programming.

JOB DESCRIPTION

NEWS CONTENT EDITOR

As a News Content Editor, you will gather information, plan news coverage, and produce original stories and content for our digital platforms, including FOX2Detroit.com, our streaming channel, and social media channels.

Responsibilities include managing the digital/social/streaming content desk and supporting the assignment desk functions:

1. Develop enterprise news story ideas via phones, social media, email, and internet.
2. Write and distribute news content across digital platforms, utilizing SEO strategies.
3. Monitor live video and audio feeds and other sources for breaking news.
4. Coordinate daily newsroom logistics, including dispatching crews and collaborating with the news team.
5. Identify and develop story ideas from social media tips and professional sources.
6. Align daily work with the station's goals.

The ideal candidate:

Possesses strong communication skills, manages multiple projects efficiently, works independently and collaboratively, and pays close attention to detail. Thrives in a fast-paced environment, eager to learn, and driven to succeed daily. Demonstrates excellent storytelling, news judgment, and copy-editing skills. Has expertise in social media, content management systems, SEO, video publishing, live streaming, digital analytics, and editing. A BA/BS in Journalism, Communications, or a related field with emphasis on digital publishing is preferred.

Pay range for this role is $50,000-$54,000 annually in high-cost markets (e.g., NYC, LA) and $41,600-$45,000 in other locations, dependent on education, skills, experience, and location. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and others per plan documents. Union employees' benefits are governed by collective bargaining agreements.
