This position is responsible for the on-air delivery of daily newscasts and for contributing high-quality journalism across all platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who excels in breaking news, thrives in a collaborative environment, and understands the demands of a modern, multi-platform newsroom.

• Present breaking news and special coverage, demonstrating strong ad-libbing skills and sound editorial judgment.
• Research, write, shoot, edit, and report original stories from the studio and field.
• Generate and pitch enterprise and community-focused story ideas and contribute actively to editorial meetings.
• Develop and maintain strong community contacts and sources to identify important and exclusive local stories.
• Write and produce content for TV, digital, social media, and streaming platforms.
• Collaborate closely with Producers, Reporters, Assignment Editors, Photographers, and News Managers on daily and special coverage.
• Maintain an active digital and community presence, including social media, station events, and public appearances.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older and have unrestricted work authorization in the U.S.
• Must be willing to work in the McAllen metro area
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
