This entry-level program is designed for newly graduated nurses and lasts 4-6 months. After completing the program, nurses transition to a permanent, mentored psychiatric staff nurse position.
Job Summary: Provides direct patient care based on ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies, and the RI Nurse Practice Act. Participates in treatment planning, manages medical and nursing care, and discharge planning. Coordinates psychiatric and medical emergencies to ensure proper care and safety for all patients. Acts as an active team member by assisting staff and accepting additional responsibilities to ensure comprehensive patient care and unit functions.
Requirements: Graduate of an accredited nursing school. B.S.N. preferred.
