Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group in the North Dallas area seeks BC/BE pediatricians to join our newborn hospitalist team providing Level I–II care across two busy centers, supported by in-house neonatologists and a network of specialists.

You will provide 10-hour in-house coverage in the newborn nursery, with on-call from home in the evenings, participate in admissions, deliveries, transitional care, circumcisions and family consultations.

Qualifications

• BC/BE pediatrician required.
• Experience in newborn hospitalist settings is preferred.
• Willingness to teach and participate in education initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide 10-hour in-house coverage in the newborn nursery and on-call from home in the evening.
• Manage admissions and care of infants in the newborn nursery, assist with deliveries, and provide transitional care.
• Perform circumcisions and consult with families on newborn care.
• Provide Level I to II newborn care at partner centers with in-house neonatology support.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for BC/BE pediatricians to work as newborn hospitalists at our busy, diverse, multispecialty neonatology practice in the North Dallas area. Our pediatricians are part of a team that includes in-house neonatologists along with our affiliated group of neonatal nurse practitioners, developmental pediatricians, cardiologists, MFMs and pediatric surgeons who provide comprehensive newborn services at multiple hospitals.

Details

• Provide 10-hour, in-house coverage in the newborn nursery and on call from home in the evening
• Responsibilities include admissions and management of infants in the newborn nursery, delivery attendance, transitional care, circumcisions and consultations with families
• Provide Level-I to Level-II newborn care at Methodist Richardson Medical Center where there is an average daily census between 10-15 babies, and Texas Health Presbyterian Rockwall Medical Center with approximately 10 babies
• Neonatologist assistance/backup is provided as needed and in all high-risk situations
• Flexibility with interest in learning and a desire to teach are highly valued
• Opportunity to participate in education and quality improvement initiatives
