Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. is recruiting BC/BE pediatricians to work as newborn hospitalists in the North Dallas area.

The team includes in-house neonatologists and affiliated specialists to deliver comprehensive newborn services at multiple hospitals. The role offers 10-hour in-house coverage with on-call duties from home in the evenings, and opportunities to teach, participate in education and quality improvement initiatives, with competitive compensation and benefits for full-time

Qualifications

• BC/BE pediatrician with hospitalist experience.
• Willingness to teach and participate in education initiatives.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced NICU setting and able to manage complex newborn cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide 10-hour in-house coverage in the newborn nursery and be on call from home in the evening.
• Admissions and management of infants in the newborn nursery, delivery attendance, and consultations with families.
• Provide Level-I to Level-II newborn care at partner hospitals with physician and nursing support.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, MFMs, and pediatric subspecialists; participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for BC/BE pediatricians to work as newborn hospitalists at our busy, diverse, multispecialty neonatology practice in the North Dallas area. Our pediatricians are part of a team that includes in-house neonatologists along with our affiliated group of neonatal nurse practitioners, developmental pediatricians, cardiologists, MFMs and pediatric surgeons who provide comprehensive newborn services at multiple hospitals.

Details

• Provide 10-hour, in-house coverage in the newborn nursery and on call from home in the evening
• Responsibilities include admissions and management of infants in the newborn nursery, delivery attendance, transitional care, circumcisions and consultations with families
• Provide Level-I to Level-II newborn care at Methodist Richardson Medical Center where there is an average daily census between 10‑15 babies, and Texas Health Presbyterian Rockwall Medical Center with approximately 10 babies
• Neonatologist assistance/backup is provided as needed and in all high‑risk situations
• Flexibility with interest in learning and a desire to teach are highly valued
• Opportunity to participate in education and quality improvement initiatives
