Responsibilities

On a typical day, you will conduct newborn hearing screens, usually in a new mom's hospital room, and help educate parents about the importance of the screen using video and printed tools provided. You will also be responsible for entering patient data and validating hearing screens as needed. Additional duties may include confirming or rescheduling outpatient appointments, following up on equipment issues, and training new staff.

  • Perform newborn hearing screenings
  • Verify insurance information with parents/guardians
  • Accurately document hearing screen results
  • Follow protocols for timely billing submission
  • Follow security and identification protocols for infants
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and other hospital policies
  • Recognize potential problems and seek assistance promptly
  • Complete hospital and company orientation, including patient privacy training
  • Maintain employee health requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Experience working with infants preferred
  • Hospital setting experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency and accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Frequent standing and walking (95% of shift)
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently

Minimum Education Level: High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Experience: 1-3 months related experience.
