Job summary

Activate is seeking a Fellowship Manager, New York, to lead the local community of scientist-entrepreneurs and support fellows through a two-year program.

You will partner with the Fellowship Director, manage operations, budgeting, events, and cross-functional collaboration to advance hard-tech startups. Based in NYC, the role offers a $100,000 salary and comprehensive benefits, with in-office presence Tue-Thu.

Qualifications

• Has 4+ years of professional experience, including at least 1 year supporting scientists, research, hard tech, or entrepreneurship.
• Has a passion for and experience with community building.
• Is experienced with facilitating personal connections, collaborations, and mutual support within a community.
• Gets the details right and takes pride in being organized and prepared.
• Can smoothly manage a complex program through changing external circumstances.
• Proactively collects and analyzes the data needed to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end fellow experience, including strategy and health of the New York community.
• Direct New York community programming, including bi-weekly in-person and quarterly virtual programming.
• Manage local program operations: fellow selection, onboarding, data, and benefits.
• Supervise the Fellowship Associate to ensure high-quality execution and growth.
• Partner with the Managing Director to support New York fellows.
• Oversee budgeting, planning, and team coordination for the local community.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into strategy.
• Support broader Fellowship team initiatives and cross-functional groups.
• Coordinate ecosystem events hosted by Activate in New York.
• Represent Activate in New York's hard-tech ecosystem and engage alumni.
