Job summary

Penn Medicine in Lancaster is seeking a Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice for a 36-hour/week night shift (7p–7a) with weekend and holiday rotation. You will provide direct patient care, collaborate with an interprofessional team, and develop practice toward the Clinical Nurse 2 level.

The role requires RN licensure, BSN preferred, and CPR/BLS certification. Completion of the Nurse Residency Program is expected, with progression toward greater responsibility over time.

Qualifications

• RN Licensure is required, issued by the PA Board of Nursing or a Temporary Practice Permit until an RN license is obtained.
• Temporary Practice Permits must sit for their NCLEX within 60 days of starting in their RN role.
• BSN preferred. For Magnet designated RN positions, BSN or higher level nursing degree is required or within three years of placement.
• A graduate registered nurse may practice under supervision with a current temporary practice permit.
• All Clinical Nurse 1 RNs will be required to successfully complete the Nurse Residency Program.
• CPR Certification - AHA Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• A health care provider must be in good standing with Medicare/Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients ranging from infancy to elderly.
• Work with the interprofessional health care team to coordinate care across the continuum.
• Meet organizational standards in Continuous Quality Improvement and Professionalism.
