Job summary

NE-XT Technologies is seeking an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC manufacturing processes for new product introductions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality engineers, setup personnel and machinists to support production goals and on-time delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in CNC machining, strong programming and CAD/CAM skills, and experience with Lean manufacturing principles to drive efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machining and process engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC programming, setup and operation including probing and macro programming.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks CAD, Esprit CAM, Siemens NX CAD/CAM) and verification with Vericut.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement efficient CNC machining processes, including tooling, fixtures, and programming for multiaxis CNC machines.
  • Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, ensuring compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products, offering DFM input during the design phase.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for manufacturing issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Evaluate and select proper CNC equipment, tooling, and technologies for NPI.
  • Establish and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, and standard operating procedures.
  • Train and mentor machine operators and other staff on CNC processes, best practices, and quality standards.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining and process engineering.
  • Extensive handson experience with CNC machine programming, setup and operation. This includes advanced skills like probing and macro programming.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software Examples of our commonly used packages (SolidWorks CAD, Esprit CAM, Siemens NX CAD/CAM) including verification software Vericut.
  • Indepth knowledge of multiaxis CNC machining (e.g., 3, 4, and 5axis mills, and multi axis millturn lathes).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications/standards in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASNI Y14.5) and blueprint reading.
  • Extensive knowledge and use of common metrology & measurement systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (preferably Epicor).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
