About the Role: We are looking for a New Product Development (NPD) Supplier Engineer to join our NPD Supplier Engineering Team. In this role, you will ensure that Gore Medical receives maximum value from supplier engagements to achieve the technical, business, and project outcomes needed to advance Gore Medical supply chain objectives, strategies, and commitments. As an NPD Supplier Engineer, you will commit to supporting the highest priority work that flows to the NPD Supplier Engineering Team which may include but is not limited to New Product Development project(s), supply chain or procurement projects, and providing additional commercial support to the Commercial Supplier Engineering Team.

This is a remote position, and you can work from home in most locations within the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain supplier relationship(s) for New Product Development (NPD) and supply chain projects
  • Manage supplier owned technical, business, and project deliverables in alignment with project plans and established agreements with supplier
  • Lead Gore project teams through procurement best practices and standard work needed to achieve successful project outcomes
  • Negotiate, influence, escalate, and drive the internal and external alignment needed to achieve successful project outcomes
  • Apply appropriate data analysis, scenario planning, problem solving, and decision-making methodology to inform risk-based decisions and to resolve areas of tension and close project gaps
  • Ensure clear input to project reviews, areas of project risk, and focus areas needed to ensure project plans stay on track and in alignment with project commitments and objectives
  • Partner with supplier(s) to execute supplier capability and validation work needed to ensure high quality parts or devices that meet product manufacturing and supply chain requirements
  • Ensure effective communication of project progress to Executive Leadership at both the supplier and Gore
  • Demonstrate effective and efficient project execution and collaboration by building strong partnerships with project core team, extended team, and required functions
  • Navigate ambiguity and identify opportunities to establish supplier engineering best practices and improve upon existing processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience in Medical Device Industry or minimum 8 years general engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate with Suppliers or External Customers
  • Demonstrated ability to provide medical device product quality engineering or design assurance engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and efficiently using both verbal and written forms of communication
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and drive alignment and accountability for projects
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes based on team, project, or business priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to make data driven and risk-based decisions using critical thinking, data analysis, problem solving methodology, and scenario planning/decision making tools
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple items and manage prioritization of work and allocation of time appropriately
  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting New Product Development projects in the Medical Device Industry
  • Experience with utilization of project management tools and methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with suppliers in Medical Device Industry and establish clear expectations, address performance issues, and hold suppliers accountable

Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore’s remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed. For fully remote roles, the following locations are not eligible for new fully remote work arrangements: Alaska and Hawaii (for all roles), and Rhode Island (for wage/hourly roles only).
