Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/sciences or 5+ years of experience in technical engineering role.
• 3 to 5+ years of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or site supervision experience.
• Aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries background is favored.
• Experience in wire and cable manufacturing, electrical products, industrial manufacturing, or related industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Amphenol facilities to support on-time delivery of prototypes, development builds, and production transition activities.
• Maintain visibility of all engineering, R&D, and development projects entering and leaving the facility.
• Coordinate activities between Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and external facilities to ensure successful project execution.
• Facilitate communication between engineering teams, customers, suppliers, other ACIT facilities, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure facility resources, workspaces, and support systems are available for projects and objectives; identify future resource needs.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse, production, and engineering staff; schedule shifts and provide coaching.
• Maintain facility readiness, including building systems, equipment maintenance, infrastructure, and security.
• Monitor site safety programs, conduct inspections, and ensure OSHA and company safety compliance.
• Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers.
• Lead facility tours for customers, auditors, suppliers, and visitors.
• Support NPI, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as required in support of the department and company.

SUMMARY

Amphenol CIT’s Kent facility is a center for new product development, focused on product engineering, prototype design, and development for the aerospace and defense industries. The NPD Engineering Facility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily facility operations, including warehouse activities, inventory management, safety, facility maintenance, and staff supervision. This role also partners with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to support product development activities and ensure projects are completed on schedule. This position contributes to innovation and the successful development of new products while supporting efficient and safe facility operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Oversee daily site operations to ensure a safe, productive, and professional work environment. Serve as the primary point of contact for site-related operational issues and emergencies.
• Work closely with other Amphenol facilities to support the on-time delivery of prototypes, development builds, and production transition activities.
• Maintain visibility of all engineering, R&D, and development projects entering and leaving the facility.
• Coordinate activities between Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and external facilities to ensure successful project execution. Monitor project status, priorities, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure commitments are achieved.
• Facilitate communication between engineering teams, customers, suppliers, other ACIT facilities, and other internal stakeholders.
• Ensure facility resources, workspaces, and support systems are available for project and operational objectives. Longer-term, support the identification of resource, equipment, and staffing needs to support future growth and project demands.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse, production, and engineering staff; schedule shifts, assign workloads and priorities, and provide coaching and performance management.
• Maintain facility readiness, including building systems, equipment (preventative and corrective maintenance), infrastructure, security, and general upkeep.
• Monitor site safety programs, conduct routine inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers supporting facility operations.
• Lead facility tours for customers, auditors, suppliers, corporate visitors, and other stakeholders.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), process development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as required in support of the department and the company

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering/sciences or 5+ years of experience in technical engineering role.

• Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries favored.
• Experience in wire and cable manufacturing, electrical products, industrial manufacturing, or a related industry preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Conversational in any other language is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

• Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods.
• Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.
• Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.

JOB SKILLS

• Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift/maneuver heavy materials and equipment weighing up to 50–100 lbs.
• Ability to operate warehouse machinery including forklifts, pallet jacks, wire cutters, and re-spoolers; proficiency in WMS/ERP software or SAP.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute engineering, operational, and facility-related projects.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and risk management principles.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range for this position is $110,000–$140,000 annually. The salary information shown is a general guideline only. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and work location.
