Qualifications

SUMMARY

Manufacturing Supervisor, 2nd Shift Effectively lead, develop, and align the production team and manufacturing resources through enterprise systems, KPI management, and Lean tools to achieve operational excellence. The Supervisor is fully accountable for effective week-over-week execution of the production schedule while building the leadership and production capabilities required for sustained value stream improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Own week-over-week schedule execution by directing employees, aligning resources, setting priorities, and driving recovery actions. Align people, equipment, and support resources to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory objectives. Improve safety performance through proactive hazard identification, risk reduction, and compliance. Lead daily and weekly operating reviews focused on schedule attainment, constraints, staffing, quality, and priorities to include participating and leading Tier meetings. Maintain and actively manage SQDCI KPIs to identify gaps and drive prioritized Target to Improve (TTI) actions with clear ownership, timing, and follow-through. Lead strategic Continuous Improvement using Lean tools, and structured problem solving to improve flow, capacity, quality, productivity, and delivery. Coach and develop employees in daily management, problem solving, accountability, and technical capability. Review production non-conformities and ensure containment, corrective action, and closure with Quality and Engineering. Support first article and NPI activity and ensure new work is integrated with clear ownership and readiness. Monitor equipment and machinery for malfunctions, arranging maintenance or repairs as needed to minimize downtime. Emergency response capabilities within a manufacturing setting. Partner with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, and other functions to remove barriers and advance value stream priorities. Collaborate across the organization while owning both near-term production results and long-term value stream performance. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment. Reinforce all factory safety procedures and guidelines. *Other duties as required in support of the department and the company*

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory responsibilities involve overseeing and managing a team or individual to ensure adequate performance and job satisfaction and contribute to individuals' career goals. Interview, select, onboard, and develop production personnel to support current and future value stream needs. Maintain timekeeping, attendance, time-off, and staffing visibility to support schedule execution. Manage employee performance through timely feedback, development goals, and corrective action as needed.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of manufacturing experience or high school diploma and seven (7) years of manufacturing experience. Three (3) years of relevant leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Conversational in any other language is a plus.

JOB SKILLS

Ability to train, coach, motivate, and develop others while setting priorities and maintaining accountability. Ability to read and understand instructions, blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Strong judgment, decision-making, and structured problem-solving skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience in Lean manufacturing, KPI-based daily management, root-cause problem solving, and Continuous Improvement. Proficient in MS Office. Knowledge of ERP/MRP (SAP preferred) systems for planning, schedule execution, resource alignment, and constraint management. Ability to interpret KPIs, identify gaps, establish TTI actions, and drive actions to closure. Effective leader and team player who communicates clearly and builds ownership at all levels. Ability to perform in a fast-paced, changing environment while balancing schedule commitments with long-term improvement. Reliable and flexible to work additional hours as needed to meet customer and production demands. Preferred: Lean tools, KPI/visual management, structured problem solving, Windchill PLM, and Six Sigma experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
