Do you enjoy creative problem solving? If so, we invite you to apply for the New Product Development Engineer position within the Fisher Valve Business Unit! This position works within a team to progress new design concepts through the prototype and testing phase to global production while referencing our design standards and processes throughout the project. The successful candidate will be involved in activities such as concept and prototype development, testing and evaluating design performance, design validation through engineering calculations, and formal project documentation.

As part of an international team, you will work to take designs from concept to production, followed by product introduction and early technical support. Responsibilities also include communicating with multi-functional teams, working with suppliers and manufacturing sites worldwide, and completing design project calculations both computationally and analytically.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

2. Brainstorm potential design solutions for challenges reported by customers and Global Marketing and Sales teams
3. Innovate new prototypes for products & technologies to drive cost reduction within existing and future product segments
4. Partner with Global Manufacturing and Operations to reduce product complexity, improving cost, efficiency, and quality
5. Perform and document design calculations and analyses following internal standards, employing state-of-the-art methodologies
6. Build 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings with a drafting team for new designs
7. Manage parallel assignments such as part number creation, test specifications, instruction manual drafting, and adherence to Design Practices and Procedures
8. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance project schedules and execution efficiency
9. Provide regular project updates to team members and leadership throughout the project timeline
10. Participate in continuous improvement and technology development within engineering and design fields
11. Travel percentage (if applicable)

For this Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, Chemical, Agricultural, or Aerospace)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to perform engineering calculations
• Strong organization, planning, and time management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship not provided)

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Two or more years of engineering experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, or testing
• Experience working with global or remote teams
• Programming skills related to automation or design tools
• Understanding of technical drawings, manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances, and GD&T
• Proficiency with design tools such as 3D CAD (SolidWorks), Microsoft Office, etc.
