Job summary

Rheem Manufacturing Company in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a New Model Coordinator I to coordinate and facilitate engineering changes and new model builds from 3P events through first production.

You will support Rheem North America, based in Fort Smith, AR, in an on-site role, coordinating parts, tracking PPAP, and ensuring production readiness across multiple teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • Associate’s Degree with 2+ years of experience in similar function.
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 4+ years of experience in similar function.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing with proven accomplishments.
  • Strong communication (speaking, writing, listening) with ability to present to groups.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate parts and process readiness for all new model builds/ECN changes.

  • Ensure all parts are available before build by following up on material availability.
  • Provide technical assistance to Group Coordinators and Line Operators.
  • Track part issues during builds and maintain an open issues list.
  • Lead build review meetings and drive issues to closure.
  • Lead ECN meetings for design/BOM changes and ensure execution.

Job Description

The New Model Coordinator I will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating all engineering changes and new model builds from 3P events through first production.

This position will support Rheem North America, based in Fort Smith, AR. This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate parts and process readiness for all new model builds/ECN changes
  • Track part development by working with manufacturing and manufacturing engineering on make parts through PPAP approval
  • Assure all parts (make & purchased) are available before build by following up on all material availability for pre-production builds with the assigned responsible core team members (Planners, Procurement managers and Production)
  • Technical assistance to Group Coordinators and Line Operators during builds/ECN changes
  • Track part issues during builds and maintain open issues list
  • Ensure lines are ready for production units through daily ‘build readiness’ document
  • Research and recommend solutions to Bill of Material Errors
  • Lead build review/project improvement meetings and drive open issues to closure
  • Lead ECN meeting for any design / BOM changes and assure they are executed
  • Assist in troubleshooting of process issues related to builds / launch / ECN changes
  • Input routings for make parts, assemblies and finished goods
  • Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field, or an Associate’s Degree in related field with 2+ years of experience in similar function, or High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 4+ years of experience in similar function.
  • Understanding of a lean manufacturing environment with a record of proven accomplishments
  • Understanding of Bill of Materials, New Model Activity, etc.
  • Strong communicative skills (speaking, writing, & listening) with the ability to present information and respond to questions from groups, directors or top management
  • Independent thought, good judgment, problem solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects
