Job summary

Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Associate 1 to support branch operations. You will perform general warehouse tasks such as receiving, stocking, assembling, staging, loading and unloading products, while ensuring quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities include pallet jack operation, inventory checks, order preparation, and assisting other departments as needed. A physically demanding role requiring reliability and readiness to work extended hours in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints.
• Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the warehouse environment.
• Must follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Follow a given rule or set of rules to arrange things in a specific order.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate material handler equipment proficiently.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Physically strong, agile, and able to work in varying conditions.
• Positive attendance history and the ability to extend hours.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrap, boxing, labeling).
• Stage finished product for loading.
• Check purchase orders/work orders for correct assembly and readiness.
• Verify correct quantity of items assembled.
• Assist in inventory maintenance and counts.
• Load finished product onto the truck.
• Unload products and stock in designated areas.
• Ensure quality control and prevent damaged goods from shipping or storage.
• Operate pallet jack per SOPs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pallet jacks.
• Provide on-the-job training for new employees.
• Handle inventory movement into/out of controlled locations.
• Prepare customers' orders for delivery.
• Provide fill-in support for other warehouse departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Warehouse Associate 1 contributes to the efficient operation of the warehouse by providing labor support to the Branch Office. Warehouse Associate 1 in this job performs a range of general and specific warehouse tasks that can be easily learned on the job such as receiving, stocking, assembling, staging, loading, and unloading products.

• Package finished product for shipping (Shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Stages finished product for loading.
• Check purchase orders/ work orders to ensure that products are correctly assembled and ready for delivery.
• Check items to ensure that the correct number of products are being assembled.
• Assists in inventory level maintenance and inventory counts.
• Load the finished product onto the truck.
• Unload products from trucks, containers, and stock them in the designated area.
• Responsible for quality control. Ensure that no damaged products are sent out, and no damaged products will be stored.
• Operate pallet jack within standard operating procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on palette jacks.
• Perform on-the-job training for new employees.
• Handle inventory movement into and out of controlled locations.
• Prepare customers' orders for delivery.
• Provide fill-in support for other departments in the warehouse.
• Other duties as assigned.

• The incumbent should be able to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Correctly follow a given rule or set of rules to arrange things or actions in a certain order;
• Require considerable and strenuous physical exertion so incumbents should be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate material handler equipment proficiently.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Physically strong, agile, dexterous, and undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions.
• Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.
• Available to work extended hours.

Working Conditions

Some Warehouse Associates will spend time in the warehouse's refrigerated (Cooler and Freezer) section. Machinery operation requires using safety equipment including but not limited to steel-toed boots. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday (standard 40 hours per week); however, evening, night shift, overtime, and weekend hours are common in some branch offices.
