Job summary

Palantir invites new graduates to join a software engineering team focusing on query engines and data processing within Palantir Foundry. You’ll explore computations, query plan optimizations, and operator execution while building on Spark, DataFusion, and Iceberg.

You will work with experienced engineers, contribute to design and testing, and learn to deliver correct, compatible, and high-performance software across products and pipelines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
• Proficiency in at least one language such as Java, Rust, Scala, C++, or C
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency; strong written and verbal communication skills
• Coursework or projects in databases, compilers, operating systems, or distributed systems
• Contributions to open-source projects

Responsibilities

• Work on query engine features and optimization for Palantir Foundry’s data processing
• Collaborate through design reviews, testing, and release processes to ensure correctness and performance
• Learn how to implement planning rules and optimize operators within data processing pipelines
• Support multiple products and workloads, including no-code pipelines and interactive analysis
