Job summary

Palantir Technologies seeks a research-oriented software engineering intern to work on data processing infrastructure powering Palantir Foundry. You’ll explore how computations are represented, how queries are optimized, and how data is read and written efficiently using open-source engines.

You’ll contribute to production systems with guidance from experienced engineers. You will learn to design and review implementations, validate correctness, and deliver performant software across multiple

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in CS/Math/SE/Physics or equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency in at least one language such as Java, Rust, Scala, C++, or C
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Coursework or projects in databases, compilers, operating systems, or distributed systems
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Must be graduating in 2028 for internship eligibility

Responsibilities

• Work deep inside data processing systems for Palantir Foundry
• Write planning rules and optimize query execution
• Improve performance of large tables and data pipelines
• Participate in design, code review, testing, and release processes
• Collaborate with senior engineers to learn and deliver correct, compatible software
