Job summary

Scale is hiring a New Grad Software Engineer in San Francisco to own meaningful, customer-facing work from day one—shipping products, talking directly to customers, and iterating quickly. You will contribute to RL data pipelines, evaluation infrastructure, and AI tooling, collaborating across teams to deliver scalable solutions.

The ideal candidate graduates Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a BS in CS/EECS/CE/Statistics, plus prior internship experience and a track record of shipping high-quality

Qualifications

• Graduation date Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, EECS, Computer Engineering, Statistics
• Product engineering experience such as building web apps full-stack, integrating with APIs/services, talking to customers, iterating on what to build
• Previous Product/Software Engineering internship experience
• Track record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale
• Experience building systems that process large volumes of data; experience with Python, Typescript, React, and/or MongoDB

Responsibilities

• Build reinforcement learning and data pipelines that power frontier model development
• Develop evaluation infrastructure that measures model reliability for enterprise and public sector customers
• Ship AI tooling and infrastructure that enables observability, testing, and safe deployment
• Create UI/UX tooling alongside ML algorithms for large-scale contributor tasks
• Develop new AI infrastructure products to visualize and explore Scale data
• Integrate models into customer retention and other systems
