Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Essex Junction, VT is looking for a Silicon Photonics Test Development Engineer (2027 New College Graduate) to develop and automate optical and electrical test solutions for photonic integrated circuits. You will perform detailed device characterization in a Linux environment using Python and C/C++.

You will analyze large datasets, optimize test methods, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve throughput, measurement capability, and data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Photonics, Optical Engineering or related field.
• GPA 3.0 minimum.
• Strong written and verbal English skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and document optical and electrical test plans for silicon photonic ICs in Linux using Python and C/C++.
• Characterize devices and circuits (I-V, C-V, optical loss, wavelength response, coupling efficiency).
• Improve high-speed test methods using lab instruments and manage data quality and repeatability.
