The Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgical Progressive Care Unit/ IMC is a 32-bed general surgical unit. The unit offers three levels of care: Floor, Telemetry, and Intermediate Medical Care (IMC).You will learn many valuable nursing skills through a comprehensive structured unit orientation, attend core Department of Surgery courses, and be assigned a designated preceptor during your residency.

  • All New Graduate Registered Nurses will be automatically enrolled in a year-long accredited Nurse Residency Program (NRP) to facilitate a successful transition into professional nursing practice.
  • The charge nurse does not have a patient assignment to be available as a resource during each shift.
  • Monday - Fridays 10:30AM - 11:00PM, anexperienced nurse functions as a resource nurse. They have no patient assignment, so they are available to assist with admissions, discharges, troubleshooting, emergencies and more!

Qualifications:

  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
  • Completion of Clinical Rotations and Practicum listed on resume.
  • AssociateDegree in Nursing required.
  • Tuition reimbursement - BSN/MSN matriculation required within one-year of hire and completion ofdegree within five-years of hire.
  • Active Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) or Compact State Registered Nursing license is required.
  • CPR/BLScertification required. AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.

Salary Range: Minimum 35.02/hour - Maximum 52.69/hour.Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
