Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, OH is seeking a New Grad RN Resident for the Orthopaedics unit. You will deliver direct patient care within a supportive residency program and work with a success coach to build clinical skills.

This full-time, night-shift role offers a structured one-year Nurse Residency, with education, patient safety emphasis, and opportunities for growth. Eligible new graduates or those with less than one year of RN experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• New graduate RN or less than one year of RN experience.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum tailored to learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate corrective actions.
• Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.
• Interact directly with patients and their families to enhance their experience.
• Offer healthcare education as needed.
