New Grad RN Resident - Neurosciences Specialty Unit

About the Unit

The H60 Neuroscience Unit manages patients with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, degenerative brain diseases, and spinal disorders. This position offers versatility and exposure, including stroke certification, comprehensive education, and the possibility to float to Orthopaedic, General Surgery, and Oncology units.

Position Details

This role involves rotating shifts from 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in a personalized residency core curriculum
  • Providing direct nursing care with a success coach
  • Prioritizing patient care based on acuity, preferences, and resources
  • Responding to patient risk data and initiating corrective actions
  • Seeking supervision when needed
  • Documenting in medical records
Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school
  • Current RN licensure in the state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
  • New graduate or less than one year of RN experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical & Safety Requirements
  • Full body motion, handling, lifting, and dexterity
  • Extended standing and walking
  • Corrected vision and hearing
  • Work under stress and irregular hours
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids
  • Physical exertion up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Use of standard PPE for procedures
