Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute in Cleveland is seeking a New Grad RN Resident for Neuro Stepdown. This role joins a world-class, multidisciplinary team in a state-of-the-art main campus facility designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions.

You will participate in a residency core curriculum, provide direct nursing care, and help prioritize patient needs across day/night shifts in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients' medical records.

Work Schedules

A caregiver in this position works a day/night rotation from 7:00am - 7:30pm or 7:30pm - 7:30am.

Key Responsibilities

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
