Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, OH, is seeking an RN Resident for the Parkview Terrace unit. This one-year residency offers hands-on training, a mentorship program, and nine tracks to develop clinical skills in stroke care and general nursing practice.

You will work nights (7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.), collaborate with experienced caregivers, document in medical records, and participate in a core curriculum tailored to learning needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification if in a Critical Care area must be presented upon hire or within first year
• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or move from non-inpatient to acute direct care with <1 year current acute RN experience

Responsibilities

• Participate in residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resources)
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently
• Document in patients’ medical records

Fairview Hospital’s Parkview Terrace is a 36-bed complex medical care, stroke care and epilepsy monitoring nursing unit that promotes the delivery of high-quality patient care through teamwork, communication and collaboration. As an RN Resident on this unit, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire
• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year current acute direct patient care RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
