New Grad RN Resident - General Surgery/Med Surg

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Hillcrest Hospital as a New Grad RN Resident - General Surgery/Med Surg. Hillcrest Hospital is renowned for advanced research, cutting-edge technology, and world-class patient care. The 3 West Tower Complex Medical Care unit specializes in caring for adult and geriatric patients undergoing various surgeries, including general, breast, gynecology, pancreatic/liver, and urology procedures. This role involves night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Responsibilities include:
  • Participating in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Providing direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establishing and revising patient care priorities based on acuity, preferences, and resources.
  • Responding to data indicating patient health risks and taking appropriate actions.
  • Seeking supervision and assistance when necessary.
  • Documenting patient information accurately in medical records.
Minimum qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • Current RN licensure in the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • New graduate RN or less than one year of RN experience.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical requirements:
  • Full range of motion, handling and lifting patients, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Extended standing and walking.
  • Corrected vision and hearing.
  • Ability to work under stress and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
  • Physical exertion up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Protective equipment:
  • Use of standard precautions and personal protective equipment as required.
