Job summary

Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital is seeking an RN for a 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. shift with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

The hospital offers a Nurse Residency program with multiple tracks, RN Loan Repayment, tuition reimbursement, and relocation assistance to support your career. Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with active state licensure.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within one year of hire.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Participate in residency core curriculum based on learning needs.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care considering acuity and resources.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate corrective action.
• Seek supervision and assistance when unsafe or unable to perform.
• Document in patients’ medical records.

South Pointe Hospital’s Emergency Department has 22 beds and provides 24/7 emergency services, ranging from minor injuries to critical and resuscitative care, to more than 35,000 patients of all ages each year. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross within one year of hire
• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year current acute direct patient care RN experience.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
