Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center is hiring for a RN Resident as part of the HCA Healthcare Residency Program in Salem. The year-long program provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and a structured path from student nurse to registered nurse.

Starting in 2027 with multiple cohort options across specialties, you’ll gain advanced clinical training, monthly sessions, and preceptorship in a supportive environment designed to promote clinical excellence and professional growth.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certifications obtained within required timeframes.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Registered Nurse license or eligibility in the state.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; report changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and document care in medical records.
• Administer prescribed medications; monitor response and intervene as needed.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate needs.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about conditions, treatments, and follow-up.
