Job summary

Summerville Medical Center, part of the HCA Healthcare system, offers a New Grad RN Residency Program designed to bridge the transition from student nurse to registered nurse through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and a formal education track.

The program emphasizes advanced clinical training, monthly education sessions, and structured preceptorship, with a focus on high-quality, patient-centered care within a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• RN degree or equivalent nursing credential required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (BLS within 30 days, ACLS within 1 year).
• Active RN license or Graduate Nurse status in SC or eligible to practice in SC.
• No prior work experience required for residency program.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; report changes.
• Perform procedures and document care accurately in medical records.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans and medications.
