Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is offering all new graduate Registered Nurses enrollment into our ANCC Accredited RN Residency Transition into Practice Program. This program supports new grads as they transition to practice within our Neuroscience unit and hospital system.

We seek compassionate RNs to work on a neuroscience progressive unit with 36 hours per week across three 12-hour night shifts, providing care to neurosurgical, stroke and epilepsy patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher.
• Current State of Illinois RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR.
• Analytic ability and critical thinking.
• Oral, listening and written communication skills.
• Strong human relation skills to interact with others in difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinically competent, evidence-based care for an assigned patient group.
• Coordinate care planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Participate in teaching, mentoring and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain patient safety and comply with ethical and regulatory standards.
