Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA, offers a New Grad RN Residency within the HCA Nurse Residency Program. This year-long, paid residency helps bridge the transition from student nurse to registered nurse with hands‑on experience in multiple specialty areas.

You will be supported by nurse educators, experienced nurses, and peers through a structured program including monthly education sessions, preceptorship, and evidence‑based projects. Start dates span October 2026 to March 2027.

Qualifications

• BLS obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS obtained within 1 year of employment.
• No previous RN experience required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• RN License or Graduate Nurse in the state.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and report changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other orders and document care.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans and medications.
