Job summary

VCU Health offers a 12-month Nurse Residency Program for new graduate nurses in Virginia. The program emphasizes leadership development, clinical decision-making, and hands-on learning with mentored practice to prepare for independent patient care.

A $2,500 sign-on bonus applies to offers accepted by May 31, 2026. The rotation includes three 12‑hour night shifts weekly (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) with every third weekend, fostering real-world critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Must have RN licensure in Virginia or a compact state within 90 days of graduation.
• Authorization to Test letter from the Board of Nursing within 90 days of graduation.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia and BLS-HCP certification.

Responsibilities

• Clinicians work all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Shift rotations and schedules established with Nurse Manager.
• Support ongoing learning and adherence to unit requirements.
