Job summary

Denver Health is recruiting a mission-driven New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN) - Peds/PICU to join our PICU team in Denver. The 8-10 bed unit provides specialized pediatric critical care with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and is designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.

The program offers a 12-month Nurse Residency with monthly education and hands-on clinical experiences to ease the transition from student to practicing nurse, plus opportunities to grow within a team dedicated to patient

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• RN license required by state.
• This program is offered to those with no previous RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Learn and execute all job functions as performed by a fully credentialled RN.
• Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patient’s condition and vital signs.
• Develop and modify patient care plans as indicated by patient responses and conditions.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient responses and conditions.
• Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
• Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations and treatments.
• Assess the needs of individuals, families and/or communities to identify potential health or safety problems.
• Instruct individuals and families on health education and disease prevention and after care.
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or disabled patients.
