We are currently interviewing recent New Grad RN candidates and graduates from December 2024 to July 2025. You may start orientation pending NCLEX results.

The HCA Healthcare Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program providing hands-on experience to build clinical and critical thinking skills. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you'll be supported by nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents, facilitating your transition from student to registered nurse.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Residency Program at Research Medical Center equips you with essential tools for success. The paid program includes:

  • Specialized clinical training
  • Monthly educational sessions
  • Preceptorship with experienced nurses
  • Skills assessment through simulations
  • Mentoring from nurse leaders
  • Evidence-based practice projects

The RN Resident provides high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborating with the care team, and advocating for patients and families.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and shifts, reporting changes
  • Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered, documenting care thoroughly
  • Administer medications, monitor responses, and notify providers of issues
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up

Qualifications:

  • BLS within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or pending graduation)
  • RN or Graduate Nurse license in the state (with NCLEX pending)
  • No prior experience required
  • Some travel may be required during training, primarily within Kansas City area for the first 4-9 weeks
