MaineHealth is seeking a Clinical Nurse I for the IMC/General Surgical Unit (R3) at Maine Medical Center in Portland. New graduates welcome; 0–1 year RN experience ideal. This full-time night-shift role offers a 12-hour shift pattern and a Nurse Residency Program to support new grads.

Candidates must hold an active RN license in Maine and demonstrate strong patient- and family-centered care. As part of a high-acuity unit serving adults 18+, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team,

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Maine.
• Entry-level RN: 0–1 year experience; post-op care experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to identify changes in patient conditions and act appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Coordinate care across inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Support patient and family with care planning and education.
• Participate in Nurse Residency Program and professional development.
