Job summary

Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE seeks a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical unit. This role assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care according to policy and professional standards, and is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under supervision.

The RN will collaborate with the care team to provide safe, effective care, coordinate with physicians, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
• Formulate and implement a plan of care including discharge planning.
• Provide direct patient care, coordinate and supervise nursing activities.
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and revise plans as needed.
• Document assessments, plans, interventions and outcomes in the patient record.

Education
