Job summary

Great Plains Health is seeking a Director of Nursing - Medical-Surgical to provide 24‑hour managerial and clinical leadership for medical-surgical units. You will guide staff, support physicians, and ensure high quality, safe patient care while managing department budgets and governance initiatives.

The role requires an RN license and BSN or MSN with plans to complete MSN, plus BLS and certification as specified by practice area.

Qualifications

• Must hold BSN or MSN with plan to complete MSN.
• Must possess a current RN license in state of practice (or compact license).
• Board Certification and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24‑hour managerial and clinical support for designated units.
• Lead operations to ensure safe, high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
• Oversee budgets and resource utilization with nursing leadership.
• Develop and evaluate quality and process improvement initiatives.
• Coach staff, conduct evaluations, and implement staffing and governance strategies.
• Cover for house supervisor and other directors/managers.
