Job summary

The University of Rochester invites new graduate nurses to join a comprehensive residency program at its western New York campus. You will begin with guided training and hands-on clinical practice under the Nurse Manager’s direction, building competency in direct patient care at a leading level one trauma center.

Position is full-time (D/E/N), with 8- and 12-hour shifts, holidays and weekends per unit policy, and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Active New York State RN license in good standing.
• Less than 6–12 months of RN experience.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts including holidays and weekends.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, prioritization and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Support delivery of patient care and contribute to unit activities.
• Assist peers in delivering patient care services.
• Under supervision, continue competency development during residency.
• Flexible scheduling and on-call responsibilities as required by the unit.
