Job summary

Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital is seeking a compassionate RN for a residency‑based role in the Endovascular Surgery Department. You will provide direct nursing care, work with a dedicated coach, and help prioritize patient needs while ensuring safety and quality in a fast‑paced setting.

Eligible candidates will participate in a one‑year Nurse Residency, with tracks and hands‑on training. RN licensure, BLS, and nursing education are required along with on‑site duties and on‑call schedules.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • New grad or less than one year RN work experience or a transition from non inpatient to acute direct care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care based on acuity, preferences, and resources.
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate corrective action.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.

South Pointe Hospital Endovascular Surgery Department treats conditions affecting your blood vessels (vascular system) without making large incisions. Surgeons repair these vessels and remove blood clots to restore blood flow and prevent damage to your brain, heart, limbs and lungs. You will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care offering the opportunity to enhance the patient’s experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life‑saving treatment.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with on‑call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on surgery core learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non‑inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one-year current acute direct patient care RN experience.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
