Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated RN for Nights, Full Time (36 hours per week) at Mercy Hospital - W Memorial Rd in Oklahoma City. The unit specializes in Obstetrics and Mother Baby, Well Newborn Care, and related post-surgical care.

Responsibilities include maintaining competencies in Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and OB Emergency Department, with possible float between departments based on patient needs. Licensure in Oklahoma is required, with BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state or a compact license.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire).
• Ability to float between Labor & Birth, Antepartum and OB Emergency Department as needed.

Overview

We are high-paced, high-energy unit specializing in Obstetrics and Mother Baby, Well Newborn Care along Post Women’s Surgical unit. Within our unit we have:40-MB rooms,15-LDR rooms,14-High Risk Antepartum,8-bed OBED unit,4-LIBC Birthing Suites, and4-Pre Post Rooms 3-OR suites (where we circulate all of our own cases). We also have Full time Lactation Consultants who see both inpatient and outpatients. Mercy OKC is the leading delivering hospital in Oklahoma City and second leading in the Ministry. Our teams offer a comprehensive suite of services at the Love Family Women's Center.Nurses are expected to maintain competencies in Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and OB Emergency Department, and may be assigned to float between these departments based on patient care needs.

Qualifications:Education

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

Licensure

• Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical requirements/demands

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• One or more certifications may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
